Oy! This has been the worst flu season I’ve ever seen. Friends and family members are being knocked out of action for days, not to mention the numbers of appointment cancellations I’ve received over the past six weeks due to illnesses.
As reported in The Star :
“Toronto Public Health confirmed 1,180 flu cases between Sept. 1, 2012, and Jan. 15, 2013 — a spike over a five-year average of 318 cases for the same time period. There have been 68 institutional outbreaks, compared to a five-year average of 16. Those figures exclude 2009/2010, when H1N1, or swine flu, was pandemic.”
Doing the math, about 4 times as many people have gotten sick with the flu this year than on average. That’s a lot of people!
It’s been one year since I was introduced to the world of multivitamins. As I’ve said before, I started off as a multivitamin skeptic. I’ll let you read my previous post to see what changed my mind. Since that time I’ve managed to convince a number of people to take the product I recommend, and meet many more who are already on it. Before going any further, however, I’m going to state for the record that legally one cannot make any claims that any natural health product can prevent, treat, or cure disease. So, all I’m going to do is share my personal observations and let you make up your mind.
I’ll start with my husband. He used to get sick all the time. He worked extremely hard and almost like clockwork, as soon has he had a break – typically every long weekend – he would get sick. (I noticed this because it was extremely frustrating to want to do family stuff on a long weekend, and have a quarter of the family miserable in bed each time!) Since starting his multi, he’s been sick only a couple of times, but only mildly, and typically for just one day. He did get the flu, but again, he was exhausted for just one day, and was 100% better a day or two later.
A friend and I have daughters who are close friends. She wasn’t convinced that my multivitamin brand was any better than hers, but had joked with me that she should give the children’s product to one child and not the other, to see if she noticed the same differences with her kid that I had with mine. In December, I gave her a bottle to do the test on her daughter. Over Christmas, the whole family got the flu for a week…except for her daughter, who bounced back after only one day.
A friend who is a teacher used to get sick regularly (bless all my teacher friends working in those germ factories!), along with her whole family. While she’s been on the product, the family has still continued to get sick while she has avoided it.
In fact, I’ve got lots and lots of stories of people staying healthy while the people around them suffer through the bug of the week. Or if they do get sick, they recover in a very short time.
See the same trend I do? Having a good multivitamin gives their bodies the vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants needed to promote a strong immune system and fight infections, so it should be no surprise that they stay in such good health all the time.
I’m self-employed, so I don’t get paid sick days. I literally can’t afford to be sick. Nor can I take time off for my kids to be sick. If you’re in the same boat (or just don’t like getting sick!) and are looking for the best product to help avoid illness, then contact me via my website and I’ll be more than pleased to help.
And if you’re already taking a great product, please let us know what it has done for you! I’d love to hear your experience.
To your health!
